In the gutter

Gardening is my thing. It’s my time out. There’s nothing more grounding than getting my hands in the dirt and nothing more satisfying than being able to admire your art at the end of the day.

Cept in winter. My garden beds get no sun in winter. My flourishing garden goes into hibernation. It’s always damp. It’s dark. It’s depressing.

So my man came up with this brilliant idea.

He found some guttering at a work site and he brought it home. My first thought was ‘oh good, more building materials lying around’. But oh no! He came up with the gutter garden…

We planted bok choy, coriander, parsley, lettuce, kale, rocket and cress. Root vegies won’t work obviously because of the soil depth. But the gutter garden is thriving and I’m lov’n my winter garden again.

    1. Thank you, Rach. Have been eating some of the greens from it the past week. Raced out there tonight to get some parsley to top off my dish. So handy!
